Sub-Assembled, Knockdown (KD)
Golden Railings, Inc. builds all the posts with most mounts attached. Loose Pipe ships in stock 24'-0"lg lengths for field cutting. Kick plate ships in stock 24'-0"lg lengths for field cutting and notching. Pipe for round/curved structures are rolled to the correct radius and shipped in maximum 24'-0"lg lengths for field cutting. All bends are shipped long for field trimming. Please note, some posts or mini-posts may need to be field built to ensure proper fitment.
Assembled
Golden Railings, Inc. builds posts into handrail panels with a maximum length of 24'-0" with most mounts attached. Wall mounted and cantilever railings ship with brackets attached. Kick plate ships in stock 24'-0"lg pieces for field cutting and notching. Pipe for round/curved structures are rolled to the correct radius and shipped in maximum 24'-0"lg lengths for field cutting. All bends are shipped long for field trimming. Please note, some posts or mini-posts may need to be field built to ensure proper fitment. Not all posts can be assembled into handrail sections. This is true of all 1 rail systems and where bends occur in railing.
Kick Plate
Also know as Toe Plate or Toe Kick. Mounted at the base of most horizontal guard rails and prevents ground based foreign objects from falling to lower levels that maybe occupied by people.
Cantilever Rail
Also know as a grip rail or out-rigger rail. Generally mounted 2'-10" above stair nosing line or ramp when full height guard rail is used.
Panel
Section of pre-assembled mechanical railing or welded railing (maximum length is 24'-0")
Mini-post
Post that only spans from the top rail to bottom rail and has no mount. This type of post is generally used where two stairs meet at right or odd angles. These posts generally need to be field built to accommodate field conditions.
